Bowl-A-Thon 2023 was a SUCCESS! Thank you to everyone who donated, started a team, bowled with us, or simply re-shared our social media posts! Our Bowl-A-Thon fundraisers helped us raise more than $44,000.
On Sunday, April 30th, TEA Fund and our community of supporters gathered at USA Bowl in Dallas for our annual Fund-A-Thon! This was the first time being back in person for one of our favorite events of the year, and it was a huge success! We managed to raise more than $26,000 for out-of-state abortion services for pregnant people in Texas – a huge achievement!
Each participating team had creative names that were hilarious, full of puns, and certainly matched the energy that everyone brought to the lanes that day. Donning creative costumes, chants, and strategies, this truly was an OLYMPIC DAY! Our afternoon seemed to fly by with every roll and every eruption of joy from each strike. And the competition!? Our community’s passion for fundraising is true to their love for a good round of bowling as well, with teams neck and neck in our big awards for the highest score, lowest score, and even highest number of gutter balls!
Our fundraising teams turned it OUT this year – with thousands of dollars raised thanks to their efforts and extended community of supporters who donated to each team. We had a great time upping the ante with our raffle tables by encouraging $1 for 1 raffle ticket donations. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, we were able to provide matching funds up to a whopping $15,000 over a three-week time frame, where for every dollar raised by our participants, that dollar would be matched with another dollar AND a raffle ticket.
All and all, everyone had an incredible time. The sentiment of being so grateful to be back in person with one another was shared, and we certainly agreed; there’s nothing like being in community with one another in-person, especially in a space that creates so much joy and camaraderie in the name of abortions.
