We are back with another ActiviTEA. ActiviTEAs are dedicated to creating opportunities for you to support Reproductive Justice efforts in your community.
This month, we’re highlighting the two-year anniversary of SB8 in Texas, what we’ve endured since then, and how you can continue to be a better advocate and join us as we fight back against abortion bans.
Two Years Since SB8: Enough is Enough
It’s officially been two years since Texas Gov. Abbot passed SB8 – the state law banning abortion as early as six weeks. As if this wasn’t terrible enough, the trigger law that followed Roe v. Wade being overturned restricts anyone to get abortion care in Texas. SB8 was the slippery slope that left Texans without the crucial healthcare that they deserve. Texans are being forced to remain pregnant if they are unable to travel out of state for care. Since SB 8, states across the country have seen huge bans on abortion care.
We believe every person deserves the right to determine if, when, and how they will build a family. The RJ movement needs your voice! Continue to show up and fight for what we need. We won’t give up.
